All The World’s a Stage! In summer 2009,  the children took a whirlwind musical tour around the world.  Although ages ranged from 4 – 11 the music had been selected to offer challenges to everyone.

West Side Story provided the background to New York, with ‘Somewhere’ and ‘America’.

Africa gave the children a go at some African drums, along with two and three-part tribal chants.

Japan included a visit from a member of the Royal Opera House’s Make-up department, to help with amazing make-up and wigs.  The music of the day was the ‘Humming Chorus’ from Puccini’s Madame Butterfly and the transformation was captured with some fantastic photographs which featured in the final Friday performance.

Great Britain provided seaside holiday music with “I do like to be beside the Seaside” and “The Sun has got his Hat On”.

On the final day the children worked so hard and produced a really polished performance for the mums and dads in the audience.
